Lafayette Farmers Market begins this Saturday

The Lafayette Farmers Market is starting up for the 2009 season this coming Saturday May 2.

The Lafayette Farmers Market is located on Fifth Street between Main and Columbia Streets.  From May 1 through October 31, the market will be open Tuesdays and Saturdays from 7:30 am until 12;30 pm.  Then on June 4 the market will move to a west side location for Thursdays starting at 3:00 pm.  Before they get to the west side they will stop at the pedestrian bridge to throw the mimes into the Wabash.  What a joyous day that will be. From June 4 until August 13 the market will operate at the west side location on Thursdays from 3:00 pm until 6:30 pm, that is behind the Dauch Alumni Center which is at the corner of Wood St. and Grant St. in West Lafayette.  That is about 2 blocks directly south of the Purdue Union building.  You can get to the market on the west side by using the same free trolley that you can use to get to the regular east side location.

Here is a link to the summer hours of the free trolley:

OK, I was just kidding about the mimes.
