I took some pictures of vacant buildings around the north side downtown edge. What do you think of the potential for a food coop in any of these places? Do you know of others?
First one below is the Imagination Station, now not used.

Below is the former Bison Financial Building -

Below is the almost-unused Central Fire Station. Apparently the City Fire Dept. uses it for office space and equipment storage. Owned by City of Lafayette, is not for sale.

Below is a decrepit garage attached to a row of apartments. Located at 5th & Brown Streets. Kind of an eyesore, isn't it?

I'll photo-prowl around the southern edge of downtown in an upcoming blog.

I actually think the garage is pretty cool. We could paint it really cool and open the doors to have an open air store in the summers...
