Lafayette community will be discussed at a Nov. 15 Purdue University forum.
"Food, Communities and Sustainability: A Public Square Forum Initiative" is
1-5 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 333 Meridian St., West
Lafayette. The event, which is free and open to the public, will feature two
panel discussions and a reception. The event is sponsored by the College of
Liberal Arts Engagement Office.
The "Healthy Choices, Local Sources: The Role of Schools, Communities and
Families" panel is set for 1-2:15 p.m. Panelists are Benjamin Schultz of the
Indiana University task Force on campus sustainability, food working group;
Barry Rubin, board member of Lafayette's City Foods; and Laura Palmer and
Emily Becker, extension specialists who coordinate Purdue's Eat Your Way To
Better Health program. The moderator is Sherrema Bower, a graduate student
in American studies and women's studies.
