Soybeans - 89¢ per pound

At Asia Food Market, Yeager Rd, West Lafayette, under the bok choy cooler.

Dried soya beans 89¢. Bags weigh a bit more than 1 pound, so a bag will cost you around $1.20.

November farm market value of soybeans is varying between $8 and $10 bushel. Soybean bushel is 60lbs.

I would like to test if the soybeans I bought are Round Up Ready. Yum.

I'm trying to make tempeh.

Anonymous said...: 89 cents a pound seems like a pretty good price to me. The Asia food store also sells brown rice in 20 lb. bags, I have been getting similar brown rice at Lee's supermarket in Indy but Asia market is local and about the same price.
